Kathmandu – The Department of Electricity Development has called for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to develop five hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 248 MW under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model. Companies or joint venture entities interested in undertaking these projects are invited to submit their proposals.
Eligible Nepali hydropower developers or their consortiums are allowed to submit their EOIs within 30 days from the date of the notice's publication.
As per the department’s announcement, the projects for which Letters of Intent (LOIs) are being sought include:
Beni Kaligandaki Hydropower Project (50.5 MW) in Myagdi and Parbat districts
Humla Karnali Hydropower Project (61.02 MW) in Humla
Inkhu Khola Hydropower Project (21.4 MW) in Solukhumbu
Kaligandaki Upper Hydropower Project (65 MW) in Myagdi
Loti Kamali PROR Project (49.5 MW) in Humla
The department has stated that interested developers must submit proposals in the specified format, showcasing their technical qualifications, financial capability, and relevant experience. Once the EOIs are reviewed, those deemed qualified will be invited to participate in the next phase by submitting detailed project proposals.
