Api Power Limited to Acquire Divya Jyoti Hydro Power and 50 MW Marsyangdi Besi Project

Api Power Limited has announced its decision to acquire Divya Jyoti Hydro Power Private Limited, including the 50 MW Marsyangdi Besi Hydropower Project currently being promoted by the company. The acquisition was approved during a meeting of Api Power’s Board of Directors held on 27th Shrawan.

According to Sanjiv Nyapane, Managing Director of Api Power, the decision was made after a comprehensive evaluation determined that both the acquisition and the Marsyangdi Besi project were economically and technically viable. The company plans to purchase 100% of the existing shares of Divya Jyoti Hydro Power and fully integrate it under Api Power’s management.

Though work on the Marsyangdi Besi project has not yet commenced, construction is scheduled to begin immediately after Dashain, Nyapane confirmed.

This marks the fourth major project in which Api Power is investing as a majority shareholder. The company has previously taken lead roles in:

  • Darchula Power Limited

  • Suryakunda Hydroelectric Company Limited

  • Ingwa Hydropower Limited

Nyapane emphasized that this acquisition is part of Api Power’s strategic goal to establish itself as Nepal’s largest, most profitable, and most capable private sector energy company.

In line with this vision, Api Power is expanding its portfolio beyond hydropower. The company is actively working toward becoming a national leader in mixed energy production, including:

  • Hydropower

  • Solar energy

  • Wind energy

  • Green hydrogen

With this acquisition, Api Power reaffirms its commitment to playing a key role in Nepal’s transition to clean, diversified, and sustainable energy solutions.
