visited the project site to assess the current status, review construction progress, identify challenges on-site, and discuss the support required to ensure timely completion.

US$ 67 million soft loan from the Export-Import Bank of India
Additional investment by the Government of Nepal and NEA
The project construction is categorized into two major segments:
🏗️ Segment 1: Civil and Hydro-Mechanical Work
Contractor: Shri Jayaprakash Associates Ltd., India
Completion Status: Around 81% finished
Scope: Construction of dam, intake, sedimentation basin, tunnels, surge tank, penstock shaft, powerhouse, and related infrastructure
⚙️ Segment 2: Electro-Mechanical Work
Contractor: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), India
Progress: Approximately 50% completed
Scope: Supplying and installing major equipment like turbines, generators, transformers, governors, and associated systems
The electricity generated will be fed into the national grid via the Dana–Kusma 220 kV transmission line, using a loop-in-loop configuration.
Transmission infrastructure is fully completed.
By the end of Fiscal Year 2082/83 B.S. (corresponding to 2026/27 A.D.)
Boosts reliability of electricity supply across the country
Encourages optimal use of local energy resources
Supports national development goals, especially in the economic and social sectors.
